Short Information: The Government of India has announced phase 3 of the vaccination drive in the country amidst the steep spike in COVID-19 cases. In a bid to stop the rapid spread of coronavirus in India, The Central Government announced the vaccine registration process from 01 May, 2021.  Everyone eligible will be able to register for a vaccine on the Government’s Co-WIN portal on www.cowin.gov.in or the Aarogya Setu & UMANG app.

Until now, only people above 45 years of age were allowed to take the vaccine. Before visiting the hospital for the first dose users will need to register for the COVID-19 vaccination online. Once the registration process for the phase 3 COVID vaccine begins on April 28, users can visit to the CoWIN portal, Aarogya Setu app & UMANG app to register.

How to Register for COVID-19 Vaccine Online

  • Once the registration process for phase 3 begins, users can visit to the CoWIN portal, Aargya Setu app & UMANG app to register for the vaccine. According to the latest tweet from MyGov, this will begin from 4pm on Wednesday, April 28. The vaccination drive currently offers two COVID-19 vaccines – Covaxin that has been developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech and Covishield that has been developed by the Oxford-AstraZeneca and is being manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII). Users can look for nearby vaccination centers with the help of registration process given below.
  • Every Citizen has to take two shots of the vaccine. The CoWIN portal says that the second dose of Covaxin should be taken between 28 days to 42 days after the first dose. The second dose of Covishield should be taken between 28 days to 56 days after the first dose.
  • If you want to reschedule your appointment due to some unforeseen circumstances, you can log in with your mobile number, enter OTP and make the changes by clicking on the edit icon below the ‘Action’ column against registered individuals. In case you have to move to another city, you can make changes to find the nearest vaccination center as well.
Process for Registration through CoWIN Portal

  • Visit to the CoWIN website, click on Register/ Sign in Yourself given on top right corner for the Home Page
  • Enter your Mobile Number, click on Get OTP. An OTP should arrive on your phone. Enter OTP to Verify.
  • On the Register for Vaccination page, enter all the details, including Photo ID proof, Name, Gender, and Year of birth. Click on Register.
  • Once registered, you will get the option to schedule an appointment, Click on Schedule next to the name of the person registered.
  • Enter your PIN Code or State Name with District and Search. The centers in the PIN Code will show up, select the date and time and click on Confirm.
  • You can add up to four members through one login. It is easy to reschedule your appointment.
Process for Registration through Aarogya Setu app:

  • Open the app and then click on CoWIN tab available on the home screen.
  • Choose the option “Vaccination Registration“.
  • Enter your Mobile Number.
  • Enter the OTP you will receive after entering the mobile number
  • Click on verify and you will be directed to the registration page.
  • Follow the same steps as mentioned above to register.

  • To apply online for this vaccination, you will also need some documents to get the conditions. It is very important to get these deserts done because this disease is spreading very much. Day by day millions of people are dying due to this disease. If you do not register on time, the disease will spread even more.
